Businessman Shot In Kyiv

KYIV -- A businessman has been shot and wounded by unknown assailants in the Ukrainian capital, RFE/RL's Ukrainian Service reports.

A spokesperson for the Kyiv police said today two businessmen were sitting in a car when a jeep drove up and the attackers opened fire on them. The incident took place in Kyiv's Pechersky district.

The man sitting in the driver's seat was wounded. Police say his condition is satisfactory and his life is not in danger. The second man was not injured in the attack.

The identity of the men was not revealed.
