Drug Agency Official Killed In Ingushetia

NAZRAN, Ingushetia -- An officer in the State Drug Control Agency has been killed in Ingushetia, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

Isa Tochiev, his wife, and children were hospitalized on June 3 after unknown assailants blew up his car.

Tochiev died later in the hospital.

Also, an armed group attacked the traffic police building in Nazran using grenade launchers. No casualties were reported.

Ingushetia is one of the most volatile republics in Russia's North Caucasus, with dozens of security officials and suspected rebels having been killed or kidnapped this year.
