TEXT SIZE - +
BISHKEK -- Kyrgyzstan's newly elected parliament is to hold its first session on November 10, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.

President Roza Otunbaeva said on November 8 that the parliament would hold its first session today.

But Central Election Commission representatives told RFE/RL that the session has been postponed until November 10.

Parliamentary elections were held in Kyrgyzstan on October 10. Official results showed five political parties won enough votes to enter parliament, crossing the threshold of 5 percent of the number of registered voters.

Several parties that according to official returns failed to do so filed official complaints in various courts in Bishkek. Those complaints are still being evaluated.
