Flight Attendants Of Russia's KrasAir On Hunger Strike

TEXT SIZE - +
KRASNOYARSK, Russia -- Seventeen flight attendants working for Russia's Krasnoyarsk Airlines in eastern Siberia have begun a hunger strike to protest overdue salaries, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

The flight attendants say they have not received any wages for the past eight months.

The debts of the KrasAir Company are estimated to be about $10 million.

The company was forced to suspend almost all of its flights last October, except those to Norilsk, in Russia's Far East, and to Moscow, the capital.
