Four Rebels Killed In Daghestani Operation

MAKHACHKALA -- Daghestan's Interior Ministry says its troops have killed four rebels during counterterrorist operations launched on May 13, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

Rebel leader Arsen Asulbekov is reportedly among those killed.

Security forces say large amounts of explosives, as well as weapons and ammunition, were discovered during the operation.

One federal soldier has been killed and four wounded in the operation.
