Gerard Depardieu Acting In Kazakh Movie

SHYMKENT, Kazakhstan -- French movie star Gerard Depardieu is in southern Kazakhstan, where he is acting in a new Kazakh movie, RFE/RL's Kazakh Service reports.

Depardieu arrived in Kazakhstan on August 31 and plans to spend two weeks in the country.

Depardieu plays the role of an ethnic German living in southern Kazakhstan's Tulkibas district.

The movie's working title is "The Late Love."

It is produced by KazakhFilm and independent Tanaris studios.
