Iranian Opposition Leaders Condemn Terrorist Attack


Leading opposition figures in Iran have condemned the October 18 suicide bombing in the country's volatile southeast, RFE/RL's Radio Farda reports.

Prominent opposition figure Mir Hossein Musavi told Radio Farda he condemns the terrorist action.

Former Iranian President Mohammad Khatami called the attack shameful, adding that terrorist actions are unacceptable.

Opposition leader Mehdi Karrubi expressed his hope that security would be enanaced to protect Iranians, especially in the southeast, from attacks in the future.

Iranian state radio reported that 15 members of Iran's elite Islamic Revolution Guards Corps were among those killed in the attack.
