The head of the operations department of Iran’s armed forces, Ali Shadmani, says Tehran has three contingency plans in place to confront “any possible aggression” against the country. He said implementing any of the plans would “undoubtedly” bring the country’s enemy to its knees.

Closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz and taking it fully under Iran’s control would be the first measure, he said.

The second measure, he said, would deal with U.S. troops based in neighboring Iraq and Afghanistan.

"We are closely monitoring the U.S. forces bases in Afghanistan and Iraq," Shadmani said in comments posted on the Tabnak website. "Therefore, if they take any measures against our country, we will paralyze the forces in these bases and will not let them make any moves."

And the third measure Iran would take in case of attack, according to Shadmani?

"Israel is the U.S.A.'s backyard. Therefore, we will destroy the peace at that backyard," he said. "The U.S.A. and Israel know very well that we are capable of doing so."

The comments come amid speculation about a possible Israeli attack against Iran’s suspect nuclear facilities.

"The Atlantic," a respected U.S. magazine, reports in its latest edition that the odds of an Israeli military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities within the next year have risen to above 50 percent.

How careless for a Pasdar general to publicly discuss the Iranian strategic defensive and offensive plans. The West and everybody else including Israel now know what the Islamic Republic intends to do once the belligerency begin.
The IQ of the Iranian people has been going up, since they have many PhDs, MDs, engineers, scientists, and mathematicians, but the IQ of their leaders has been going down. May be by 50% or more! No wonder, we have Mr. Ahmadinejad’s anti Western-Israeli diatribe and his foul mouth!

Hamik... duhh, this is no secret. Anyone who casually observes the possibility of attack/counterattack has to already know these three obvious possibilities. US officials have already stated this publicly.

As long as Israel gives the green light let's roll before Bushehr gets online. The Iranians are in violation with this Nuclear facility and the longer we wait the higher the collateral damage will be.Hit Iran as hard as you can because if we don't we will have nuclear suitcase bombs going off in my back yard sooner than later. If the United States is not progressing to use military force than lets stop the war rhetoric and move towards containment. War is not something you use as a threat. you make your claim once and then strike or go run to the corner and shut your mouth. President Bush should go down in History as the best war president ever n the USA. He had the vision and the foresight to see years into the future and its time to carry the big stick.I wish the USA would quit pussyfooting around and get-r-done now!!!! If there ain't a man in the White House give me a call and I will make the decision for America. It is a far greater mistake to let Iran have th bomb than to bomb Iran. God Bless The USA!!!!

So Iran has a nuclear power plant - built by Russia, fueled by Russia, Russia will take care of the spent fuel. The US has over 100, built by us, fueled by us, and we will take care of the spent fuel. Iran can't even refine enough gasoline for its own use. Most of the technology they have they either stole or conned someone out of. If they think it's going to do any good, they should have started brainwashing babies 20 years ago.
