Iraq's new parliament is to hold its first session on June 14, three months after the country's inconclusive election.
A presidency official, Nasir al-Ani, said President Jalal Talabani has called the session for June 14.
Iraq's Supreme Court two weeks ago ratified the result of the March 7 election, affirming the narrow victory of a cross-sectarian coalition led by former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi.
Two Shi'ite blocs, which placed second and third -- Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's State of Law and the Iraqi National Alliance -- have said they would form a postelection coalition leaving them just short of a majority, but they have yet to formalize the agreement.
