BISHKEK -- Leaders of at least three parties that garnered the most votes in the Kyrgyz parliamentary elections on October 10 have traveled to Moscow, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.
Social Democratic Party leader Almazbek Atambaev left Bishkek for the Russian capital today.
Party coordinator Farid Niyazov declined to specify the reasons for Atambaev's visit. Sources within the party said that Atambaev would meet with Russian politicians to discuss plans to create a coalition government.
Feliks Kulov, leader of the Ar-Namys (Dignity) party, and the Respublika (Republic) party's Omurbek Babanov left for Moscow earlier.
Unconfirmed reports say that Ata-Jurt (Fatherland) party co-Chairman Myktybek Abdyldaev is also in Moscow.
All four parties won more than the minimum 5 percent of eligible voters needed to secure parliamentary representation. They are expected to form a coalition government.
