OSH, Kyrgyzstan -- One of the Kyrgyz opposition's two offices in the southern city of Osh has been shut down, RFE/RL's Kyrgyz Service reports.

Abdykaim Kangeldiev, coordinator of the United People's Movement in the Osh region, told RFE/RL that his group recently rented two rooms in a building belonging to Osh's Construction Engineering College for coordinating the presidential campaign of candidate Almazbek Atambaev.

The college's leadership informed the movement at the last moment that local authorities had pressured the college to annul the lease agreement with the United People's Movement.

The seven presidential candidates will officially start their campaigns on June 18, and the election is scheduled for July 23.
