Moscow Police Detain Alleged 'Turkestan' Terrorists

MOSCOW -- The Russian Interior Ministry has announced the arrest of three suspected terrorists in Moscow, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

The detained individuals are wanted by Tajikistan for their alleged involvement in several terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Tajikistan.

Russian authorities say the detained individuals are members of a terrorist group called the Islamic Party of Turkestan.

Russian authorities are working on extradition proceedings to Tajikistan for the suspects.
