Moscow Police Detain Opposition Activist

TEXT SIZE - +
MOSCOW -- Vladimir Tutayev, an activist from Russia's United Civic Front (OGF), was detained in Moscow today, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

OFG Executive Director Olga Kurnosova told RFE/RL that Tutayev was arrested in front of a detention center, where he was holding a protest action to support Eduard Limonov, a leader of the opposition Other Russia coalition.

Limonov is serving a 10-day jail sentence for organizing an unsanctioned rally in Moscow in late October.

Russian opposition activists have been demonstrating in support of Limonov since he began serving his term on November 12.
