TEXT SIZE - +
DUSHANBE -- An old artillery shell found by children in Tajikistan's Rasht district exploded and wounded two local youths, aged 11 and 18 years old, on April 28, RFE/RL's Tajik Service reports.

One of the victims is in grave condition.

A representative of the International Red Crescent Society in the region, Sharbatkhoja Saidkhojaev, told RFE/RL that in recent years 37 people in the Rasht district have been killed and 36 injured by old shells and mines left from Tajikistan's civil war in the mid-1990s.
