U.S. media say Pakistan has arrested someone who said he helped the accused Times Square bomber.

"The Washington Post" reports the suspect provided an "independent stream" of evidence that the Pakistani Taliban was behind the attack.

The paper quoted U.S. intelligence officials as saying the suspect also admitted helping Faisal Shahzad, the suspect in the attempted Times Square bombing, travel into Pakistan's tribal areas for bomb training.

The paper said authorities have been examining phone records, e-mails, and other communications for evidence of links between Shahzad and the Pakistani Taliban.

The report comes after U.S. investigators on May 13 arrested three people linked to Shahzad during raids in suburbs of New York, Boston, and Philadelphia.
