Pakistani Tribal Leader Among Five Dead In Blast

BANNU, Pakistan (Reuters) -- A suicide car-bomber has killed a pro-government ethnic Pashtun tribal leader, along with two bodyguards and two passersby, in an attack in northwest Pakistan, police said.

The tribal leader, Abdul Hakeem, was traveling with his bodyguards when attacked near the town of Bannu in Northwest Frontier Province, police and residents said.

Twenty-seven people were killed in two bomb attacks, one in Bannu, on September 26.
