ST. PETERSBURG -- Activists from two ultranationalist groups in St. Petersburg have been charged with murder and terrorism, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.
Valentin Mumdzhiev and Georgy Timofeev of the National Socialism-White Power organization are charged with killing a Ghanaian last year.
Igor Gritskevich and Vladimir Smirnov of the Slavic Community are charged with organizing 11 explosions in St. Petersburg in the past year -- including one at the Bronevaya train station last week that injured a train engineer.
Yevgeny Vyshenkov, an official with the Investigative Journalism Agency, told RFE/RL these two neo-Nazi groups differ from regular skinhead organizations.
He said members of these groups do not shave their heads, wear leather jackets, or have many of the distinguishing characteristics of other skinheads.
