Russian Officer Killed In Ingushetia Shoot-Out

NAZRAN, Ingushetia -- A Russian Army officer has been killed in a clash with rebels, RFE/RL's Russian Service reports.

Two Russian soldiers were also wounded in the incident.

Ingushetia's Interior Ministry told journalists that the clash took place on a road between the villages of Sukhakhi and Alkhasty.

There were reportedly also casualties among the rebels, but no details were available from Ingushetian officials.
