SOCHI, Russia -- Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced that it has detained an alleged Georgian spy in the north Caucasian city of Sochi.

RFE/RL's Russian Service quotes FSB officials as saying that Ukrainian passport holder Mamuka Maysuradze has been working in Sochi since 2007 as a businessman.

FSB officials said Maysuradze confessed that he collected information for Georgian intelligence about the situation in Krasnodarski Krai and preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

Georgian officials have not yet commented on the situation.
