PARIS (Reuters) -- French President Nicolas Sarkozy has ruled out sending more troops to Afghanistan, days before a NATO summit in France is due to discuss the alliance's Afghan strategy.

"We will send no other reinforcements," Sarkozy told Europe 1 radio in an interview, confirming previous remarks by Defense Minister Herve Morin.

His comment comes on the heels of a major international conference in The Hague on the future of Afghanistan that was aimed at increasing security, regional cooperation, and economic development.

NATO leaders are expected to gather for a major summit on April 3-4 on the French-German border, and Afghanistan is a major topic on the agenda.
