BANJA LUKA, Bosnia-Herzegovina -- An ad campaign in Brussels by the Serb Republic has angered Bosnian politicians, RFE/RL's South Slavic and Albanian Languages Service reports.
The Serb Republic, which is an entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina, has paid for billboards in downtown Brussels that show a road from Europe leading to the Serb Republic.
The Muslim member of the Bosnian Presidency, Haris Silajdzic, said the Serb Republic is acting outside the Bosnian Constitution by conducting foreign policy -- a matter strictly for the Presidency.
But Serb Republic Prime Minister Milorad Dodik said, "We have a right to our economic and cultural representation abroad and that is what the Brussels campaign is about."
Social-Democratic Party member Damir Masic told RFE/RL that "this media campaign is meant to show the Serb Republic as [an independent] state -- not to show it as a part of Bosnia, so it is a political campaign."
