Afghan officials say an Afghan soldier with ties to the Taliban helped militants carry out an overnight attack in which at least seven police officers were killed.

Oruzgan Province Governor Haji Khodai Rahim said the Afghan soldier led the militants into the post and fled with the Taliban.

And in the northern province of Konduz, four Afghan police were killed in an ambush overnight as they were driving through the Imam Sahib district along the border with Tajikistan.

The Taliban, meanwhile, claimed responsibility for a suicide car-bomb attack today on a bazaar in the southeastern province of Khost that killed an Afghan soldier and a police officer.

NATO, meanwhile, confirmed the deaths of three coalition service members.

Two died in the south -- one from a bomb blast on November 9 and another during an insurgent attack today.

The third coalition service member died today in fighting in the east.

Meanwhile, at least 10 Afghan civilians were injured when a bomb exploded inside a newly opened music shop selling CDs in Jalalabad.
