Those In Jail 'Have Not Been Forgotten'

This is an image of a message from an 8-year-old boy from Tehran that was sent to the mother of jailed student activist Majid Tavakoli.

It says, "Political prisoner must be released."

And here is the audio file of a telephone conversation (in Farsi) between Tavakoli's mother and a woman, "Rita," who calls her from Italy to wish her a Happy Eid al-Fitr and let her know that her plight and the plight of her jailed son who was arrested in the postelection crackdown have not been forgotten.

Tavakoli and dozens of other student activists, journalists, reformist figures, human rights activists, and others who were jailed following last year's disputed reelection of Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad remain in jail.
