Man In Army Uniform Kills NATO Soldier In Afghanistan

An Afghan man wearing an army uniform has killed a NATO soldier in eastern Afghanistan.

In a statement, the military alliance said the scene of the incident on September 26 is secure and the suspected gunman was killed.

It did not give any further details.

An unnamed Afghan official said the incident took place in Paktia Province.

On Saturday 21, an attacker wearing an Afghan Army uniform shot and killed three NATO soldiers in Gardez city, the provincial capital of Paktia.

Last year, more than 60 NATO soldiers and contractors were killed by Afghan security forces in so-called "green-on-blue" incidents.

Meanwhile, the German news agency dpa quotes the district governor of Khanabad, Hayatullah Amiri, as saying four Afghan Army soldiers have been kidnapped by suspected Taliban insurgents in the northern province of Konduz.
