U.S. authorities have announced the capture of Osama bin Laden’s son-in-law, who once was a spokesman for Al-Qaeda.
Officials said Sulaiman Abu Ghaith is expected to face an initial hearing March 8 in New York City on terrorism charges.
Ghaith was reportedly arrested in Jordan, after an initial detention in Turkey, and taken to New York.
The Justice Department said Ghaith is accused of conspiring "to kill nationals of the United States.”
Attorney General Eric Holder said the arrest showed the United States would never relent in its pursuit of the Al-Qaeda militants blamed for carrying out the hijacked airliner attacks of September 11, 2001.
Ghaith, said to be about 47 years old and born in Kuwait, appeared in videos representing Al-Qaeda after the attacks.
