Armenia Jails Russian For Computer Virus

A court in Yerevan has sentenced a 27-year-old Russian citizen to four years in prison after convicting him of organizing a cybercrime group that created a virus that infected about 30 million computers.

Georgy Avanesov, who was arrested at the Yerevan airport in 2010, was convicted on May 21 of creating the Bredolab virus that operated from servers in the Netherlands.

The virus created a so-called botnet of 30 million infected computers that enabled the criminals to coordinate denial-of-service attacks on various Internet addresses.

The group also accessed personal information on infected computers.

By the end of 2009, Bredolab was reportedly sending out some 3.6 billion infected e-mail messages per day and was spreading at a rate of some 3 million computers a month.

What a sloppy job making this title! So many decades fighting Russia and no clue who is Russian and who is not? Is this misleading done on purpose?

Hello, a guy named Georgy Avanesov can only be a Russian Citizen of Armenian descent. The title should state that.
