Suspect In 1999 Bombing Brought To Daghestan

14 November 2004 -- Dagestani authorities said a prime suspect in the 1999 Buynaksk bombing that claimed more than 60 lives was brought to Russia's southern republic yesterday, one day after his arrest in Azerbaijan.

Several suspects in the attack have already been arrested and sentenced, but Magomet Salikhov is believed to be the main organizer behind the blast.

The Byunaksk and similar bombings of apartment blocks in Moscow and Volgadonsk prompted Russia to order troops back into Chechnya, thus marking the beginning of the second war there.
