19 October 2005 -- Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Noghaideli announced the firing of Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili after members of parliament criticized her management style.

Noghaideli said today he decided to remove the French-born foreign minister after consultations with parliament.

Zourabichvili, the daughter of Georgian emigres, was serving as France's ambassador to Tbilisi when President Mikheil Saakashvili asked French counterpart Jacques Chirac for permission to bring her into his government.
