Iran 'Open' To Proposal On Nuclear Work

11 November 2005 -- Ali Larijani, Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, today said that Iran wants to be able to enrich uranium on its territory, but is open to the possibility of it being enriched abroad for its needs

Ali Larijani's remarks come as reports say the European Union and the United States have made a proposal that would see Russia enriching uranium for Iran.
 
Russia backs Iran's right to a civilian nuclear energy.
 
The United States says that Tehran is seeking to develop nuclear weapons, which Iran denies.
 
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov today said in Moscow that he expects to see a quick response from Tehran on the proposal.
