Japan To Finance Oil Projects In Iraq
6 December 2005 -- Japan said today it will provide technical support for oil and gas projects in Iraq.
The announcement came during a visit to Tokyo by Iraqi Oil Minister Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum. The two countries agreed that Japan will provide up to $3.5 billion in loans to Iraq between now and 2007 and will train up to 1,000 Iraqi engineers in Japan.
