27 December 2005 -- Thousands of people backing Sunni Arab and secular Shi'ite politicians marched through Baghdad today to protest what they are calling fraudulent Iraqi parliamentary elections this month.

The protesters are demanding a government of national unity.

Iraq's government said that political leaders would soon meet with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in the Kurdish north to discuss the composition of the new government.

Meanwhile, police say three Iraqis were killed today in separate attacks throughout the country. The killings follow yesterday's wave of violence in which at least 20 died.

Police also say workers in the southern city of Karbala have uncovered what they believe to be a mass grave.

Human remains found at the site are believed to date back to 1991, when the former Iraqi government crushed a Shi'ite uprising in the area.
