20 February 2006 -- Three men accused of murdering U.S. journalist Paul Klebnikov in Moscow pleaded not guilty today at their closed-door trial.

RIA Novosti quotes defense lawyers as saying that Kazbek Dukuzovand, Musa Vakhayev, and Faik Sadretinov pleaded not guilty.

Defense lawyer Igor Korotkov said no "real proof" was presented.

Klebnikov, a U.S. citizen, was editor of “Forbes” magazine's Russian edition when he was gunned down outside his office in Moscow in July 2004.
