Iranian Police Kill 10 Drug Smugglers

March 19, 2006 -- Iranian police have killed 10 armed drug smugglers near the border with Afghanistan.

A local police commander, Iskandar Momeni, said police had recovered several Kalashnikov rifles and a large amount of drugs after the clash, which occurred in the border area of Chahsorkh on March 18.
