OSCE Praises Ukraine Vote

Ukrainians lining up to vote in Kyiv on March 26 (Ukrinform)

March 27, 2006 -- Observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) have praised the March 26 parliamentary elections in Ukraine, saying they met democratic standards.

In a preliminary statement handed out in Kyiv, the pan-European body says the vote was "conducted basically in line with international standards for democratic elections."
