Tajik, Kazakh Hospitalized After Attacks In Siberia

Police say the Tajik man was attacked on April 1 in the city of Krasnoyarsk. They say around 20 youths dragged the man outside of a cafe where he worked and beat him. The man was hospitalized in serious condition.
The Kazakh youth, meanwhile, was beaten by a group of young people in the city of Surgut on April 2. He was hospitalized with a concussion, a broken nose, and broken teeth.
Russia has seen a recent rise in racist attacks. Last month, seven Russian youths were jailed over the stabbing death of a 9-year-old Tajik girl in St. Petersburg.
