April 13, 2006 - The head of the UN nuclear agency says he cannot as yet confirm Iranian claims that its scientists have enriched uranium used to fuel nuclear power stations.
Mohammad el-Baradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said UN inspectors have taken nuclear samples, will examine them, and then report their findings to the IAEA.
Earlier in the day, el-Baradei completed an initial round of talks in Tehran on Iran's disputed nuclear program with the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Gholamreza Aqazadeh.
