World Bank To Help Tajikistan Combat Bird Flu

July 14, 2006 -- The World Bank has announced a $5 million grant to help Tajikistan combat bird flu.
The World Bank office in Tajikistan says the project will help minimize the risk of avian influenza and other diseases that are transmitted to people by animals.
So far, there have not been any recorded outbreaks in Tajikistan of the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu.
