War Crimes Convict Found Dead

September 3, 2006 -- A former Bosnian Serb police chief who was convicted of war crimes by the UN tribunal in The Hague has been found dead in northeast Bosnia.

Police say Stevan Todorovic was found on September 2 with a gunshot to his head and with a pistol in his hand in his home in the town of Samac.


An autopsy is due to be completed later today. Todorovic was released from prison last year after he completed two-thirds of a 10-year sentence and indicated he would testify in other war crimes cases.
