Bombs In Baghdad Kill At Least 17

September 7, 2006 -- Iraqi authorities say a series of bomb attacks in Baghdad today killed at least 17 people and wounded many others.


The bombs targeted police patrols and occurred within about three hours of each other.


Meanwhile, officials say the nephew of the speaker of parliament, Mahmud al-Mashhadani, was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen.


They said Ahmed al-Mashhadani was snatched September 6 in northern Baghdad.
