NATO Raids Homes Of Karadzic Son, Daughter

February 20, 2007 -- NATO troops in Bosnia-Herzegovina have raided homes belonging to the son and daughter of indicted Bosnian Serb war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic.

NATO spokesman Derek Chappell said searches were carried out early today at the residences in Pale, east of Sarajevo, because of suspicions that the son and daughter were involved in their father's support network.

"NATO is here to search the homes of Sonja and Sasa Karadzic," Chappell said. "We are doing so because we have strong beliefs that they are involved in the support network that allows Radovan to stay at large."

Karadzic, the Bosnian Serbs' political leader during the 1992-95 Bosnian war, has been in hiding since he was indicted for genocide in 1995.
