U.S. Doctor Convicted Of Supporting Al-Qaeda

May 22, 2007 -- A U.S. federal court has convicted a doctor based in Florida of supporting Al-Qaeda.

Rafiq Sabir was found guilty of conspiracy to provide material support to Al-Qaeda.

He was recorded making an oath to Al-Qaeda to an undercover FBI agent posing as an Al-Qaeda recruiter during an undercover operation in 2005.

Sabir faces up to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced in September.
