June 10, 2007 -- Pakistan says it will join an international initiative aimed at keeping nuclear materials out of the hands of terrorists, but that the country's military nuclear program and facilities will not be covered.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said Pakistan's participation in the joint U.S.-Russian initiative will only apply to civilian "facilities and activities."
It said Pakistan's nuclear-security and export-control measures meet all the latest international standards.
