September 4, 2007 -- The closed trial of four people accused of spying for Poland has begun in the Belarusian capital, Minsk.
The four -- all Belarusian citizens -- allegedly were involved in passing information about Belarusian air defense installations to Polish agents.
A fifth suspect, a Russian officer accused of working with the four, is to face trial in Russia.
Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka has repeatedly accused Poland of trying to undermine his government.
