Police Kill Four Suspected Militants In Raid In Northwest Pakistan


Police say four suspected militants were killed when a police raid sparked a gun battle in northwest Pakistan on October 21.

Senior police officer Mohammad Sajjad the raid took place in the town of Swabi based on intelligence reports that "terrorists" were hiding in a home.

There were no casualties among security forces, he said.

Sajjadi said police arrested 32 suspects from various areas of Swabi after the raid and that the detained men were being questioned by authorities.

Local media reported that the "terrorists" killed in the raid have been identified and that they hailed from tribal areas and Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, bordering Afghanistan.

Swabi is located about 100 kilometers northeast of Peshawar.
