Explosion In Store Kills One, Injures Several In Azerbaijan

An explosion in a store on the outskirts of the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, killed at least one and injured four others on October 8.

Media reports say that at least one person remains trapped inside the building.

Firefighters had to extinguish a fire caused by the blast.

It is not clear what caused the explosion.

The store is based on the ground floor of a high-rise building, which itself was not damaged by the explosion or fire.

Baku Ambulance Center officials told RFE/RL that "many were injured and provided with first aid."
