Car Bombs Kill 19 In Baghdad

At least 19 people were killed in three car bombings in Baghdad on April 27.

The bloodiest attack took place in the upscale Mansour district of western Baghdad where at least 10 people were killed and 27 wounded.

At least 20 cars were set ablaze by the blast, which damaged several shops and restaurants. Police said four children were among the wounded.

Nobody claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Iraqi authorities lifted a decade-old nighttime curfew on Baghdad in February, seeking to restore a sense of normality to the capital.

But the city has suffered near-daily attacks as security forces struggle to drive out the Islamic State extremist who overran vast areas in northern and western Iraq last summer.
