A court in Indonesia has sentenced one of the alleged key figures in the 2002 Bali bomb attack to 20 years in jail.

Umar Patek was convicted for his role in assembling explosives for the double suicide attacks that killed more than 200 people.

He was also sentenced for involvement in a Jakarta church attack in 2000 that killed 19 people.

Patek testified that he played a minor role in assembling the explosives for the Bali bombing and claimed he was against the attack.

Prosecutors were seeking a life sentence -- sparing Patek the maximum penalty of death by firing squad as he has shown remorse during the trial.

Indonesia executed three men in 2008 for playing major roles in the attack on a bar and a nightclub in Bali.

20 years for a mass murderer. 20 years for an innocent girl, Schapelle Corby, for collecting a benign plant at an airport. He will work the system and serve less than her. She is mentally ill and has attempted suicide already, yet there are those who want to her stay the full 20 and die on the cell floor.

Why has this happened? Because the Australian government appease, for corrupt self interest (investments), and their closed media refuse to report it.

There's an international research team, known as The Expendable Project ( who have published the black and white proof of this. The Australian government's own emails.

So the blame? TWO nations. Indonesia and Australia. Unfortunately, the knock-on effect affects us all.
