The bomb attacks in Bali killed 202 people.
An Indonesian militant who allegedly played a key role in the 2002 Bali bombings has arrived in Indonesia after being extradited from Pakistan.

Umar Patek allegedly assembled the bombs for the attacks on the resort island of Bali which killed 202 people, many of them foreign tourists.

He is said to be the only major suspect in the attacks who has not been killed or arrested.

He was captured in January in Abbottabad, the same Pakistani town where al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed in a U.S. commando raid four months later.

Patek is believed to be a member of the militant Islamic Jemaah Islamiyah group which has been blamed for the Bali and other bomb attacks in Indonesia.

Jemaah Islamiyah has been linked to Al-Qaeda. There are no details on how or why Patek was arrested. Indonesian officials said he was taken to a detention center and would be charged later.
