Belarusian KGB Summons Three Swedish Activists Over Teddy Bear Stunt

Teddy bears with pro-democracy messages were parachuted into the outskirts of Minsk from a light aircraft chartered by a Swedish public relations firm on July 4.
Teddy bears with pro-democracy messages were parachuted into the outskirts of Minsk from a light aircraft chartered by a Swedish public relations firm on July 4.
A Swedish organization that dropped hundreds of teddy bears carrying democratic slogans over Belarus last month says that three of its members have been summoned to appear before Belarus's KGB secret service.

A statement on the KGB's website said the trio must appear within 10 days for questioning or face a fine, up to two years of labor, or up to six months in prison.

The stunt, during which Swedish activists illegally entered Belarus by plane, sparked a diplomatic row with Stockholm.

Belarus last week expelled Sweden's ambassador for being "too supportive of human rights."

On August 10, EU officials in Brussels hinted that more sanctions could soon be imposed on Minsk.

I think it would be in the best interest for the Swedes not to go. They will probably be arrested in Belarus. The worse thing that could happen would be that they could never step foot in Belarus again.

They have to go. They committed crimes against humanity. There are credible news sources reporting that the toy bears were radioactive. US and its sick minions have used the same strategy in Afghanistan, Libya and Haiti. US is biggest sponsor of terrorism.

Sweden like Belarus are well run by the state
infact so much so in both countries you can be followed
from the airport to your destination and back again,
By plain clothes intelligent officers or more
commonly by CCTV...
Sweden like Belarus is Big Brother all over, Both claim that
each other are committing crimes against humanity.
Look both up on Aminsty International. Shocking it is...
Shuch claims should be more inspected first before said.
Sweden in World War Two was far form nutural.
Suplying Hitlers Germany with weapons, Coal, Nuclear technology, Anything Germany wanted willingly.
Such nations should have no roll to play in international affairs. Especially Sweden. The world hasn't forgotten what Sweden
help do 75 million dead and still no accountabity. Isn't it about time Sweden pay its dues?

Who would have thought that an aircraft flying illegally over a sovereign nation's airspace would result in some form of legal response? They were lucky that it was not an immediate military interception.
