Protests and Clashes Mark Montazeri Memorial Service
Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri's memorial service turned violent in the city of Isfahan today. An eyewitness told Radio Farda that mourners found the doors of the mosque closed and the street blocked by a huge amount of security forces. They then started to protest, chanting slogans such as, "Montazeri's will: down with this dictatorship!" and "Montazeri, your path will be followed!" They eyewitness says he then saw police attack and arrest a number of people. [read in Farsi]
